12 sweet months

Well, our little Maggie Jo is officially 1. Hard to believe... sort of. I can remember this time last year like it was yesterday, but on the other hand it seems like she has been here for a long time- longer than a just a year (which she was of course!). Things for us have changed a bunch- but man what a wonderful way to change your life.

We had a great little party yesterday with Amiel's folks- it was Grandma Ollie's birthday too, so it was birthday x2. Maggie had a blast playing with balloons on the floor and surprisingly she didn't even pop one (despite her best efforts of chewing, pinching and belly flopping on top of them). She got some cool new toys and books of course. This was her second birthday celebration actually- we celebrated the weekend before with her Grandparents from KS and her cousins Lilli and Tanner. So she has lots of new things to look at and play with. We bought her a swing and she loves that too. We ate some carrot cake and had a couple of small bites of ice cream! Those 4 teeth are coming in handy.

Right now though I think what she really wants to do is walk. She is ever so close. She took 2 steps yesterday at her birthday, but I didn't see it :( Oh well. She has a cart to push but, right now she is pushing the recycling bin around the kitchen (the ottoman, and her highchair are favs too). Tumbling around and bumps are regular now.
Another big thing right now is the stairs- up and down and up and down, and we have to watch her very carefully. She can make over to them in a split second and seems to know when we aren't looking!
We have another milestone coming up too- her first weekend away from Mom and Dad! We are taking a weekend to go to California and Maggie is going to stay with Grandma Ollie. I know in my heart that she will be fine, but I am just not sure that I can leave her here (not so sure I will be fine in other words).
The posts these days are pretty few and far between, hope that this one finds you all well!
